Overview

We have been involved in a wide range of projects in the decade since Bluesight Systems was founded. Whilst many have been in the retail sector, we’ve also been involved in other industries such as transportation, event management, experiential advertising, banking, automotive, digital out-of-home advertising (DOOH), market research and many others. Not only do we provide hardware and software to provide data and insights, but we can provide additional services such as those highlighted below.

Consultancy

We can provide consulting services to clients against an agreed brief. For example, we established a trial for a retail bank that compared the effectiveness of brand-led or product-led poster campaigns in three styles of location; small town, large town and city. Another example was to understand the dwell and attention time of people looking at shoe shop window displays and how a gender bias in those displays correlated with the viewer.

Data interpretation

Our systems can create a wealth of data, but only by understanding the data can this be turned into actionable insight. We aim to create value from data by building knowledge – looking for exceptions and outliers, and then analysing to discover causes. For example, we were asked to compare the use of a dominant colour in a retailer’s advertising poster. By deep analysis of viewer data we discovered that whilst red attracted more eyeballs, the actual attention time was longer when blue was the dominant colour.

System Integration

Many of our products have APIs that allow integration with other systems. We are able to advise on blending elements of our products with third party systems including business information systems and complementary technologies. For example, we were asked to assist with an advertising campaign that required a digital signage message to change when a viewer blinked, and to measure the number of people who saw the campaign first-hand.

Special Projects

Through the years we have developed a reputation for knowing how to solve technical problems, particularly in the image-processing domain. We have provided expertise and software for specific tasks that don’t necessarily involve products from our portfolio. For example, we were asked to simulate a vehicle’s radar-based safety feature at a motor show in order to illustrate the way in which it detected potential hazards.
