Overview
Store design has a huge influence on performance. By measuring the customer journey through a store we can determine if the layout is optimal and if there are parts of the store that are under-used. The BDI Focus heatmapping smart cameras provide a visualisation of activity over a variable period so that customer journeys can be evaluated.
An optimisation cycle is created whereby customer journey is measured and analysed. Then the store layout is modified and the measurement process is repeated to evaluate and iterate for best performance.
Understand Customer Flow
An understanding of customer flow in a store or venue can provide a wealth of insight that would previously only be possible with constant human observation. For example, a retail bank may wish to know how often customers use internal ATMs and then go to the cashier, compared with those that just enter the branch to use the ATM. What proportion of customers entering a store move to the right or left in preference to straight ahead?
